Ah, 2021, You Beautiful Bitch!
Can we all collectively just sigh a big breath of relief? We made it! 2020 is finally behind us, and good riddance! Amiright?! Ha! Joking aside, I’m thankful for 2020, it gave me so much, but I do miss doing lots of things and seeing people’s faces, and hugging. I need those things back in my life!
Not that being “2021 official” has changed a lot at this point, but we do have so much to look forward to in the coming year! Life may just return to something that resembles normal sometime soon. I think that as a whole world population we can agree that normal will never have been so sweet as it will be when we finally get back to it after so long. I cannot wait!
So, let’s talk resolutions. Let’s talk theme for the year. What are yours?
First, for me, I think my theme needs to be something along the lines of being confident and putting myself out there more. For people who know me, this usually comes as a surprise because they tend to think of me as being super talkative and bubbly. Most of those people equate that with confidence, but it’s the opposite in my case. I talk a person’s ear off to mask my insecurities I think. It’s not a trait that I am proud of, and yet, I can’t seem to shut myself up, even when in my head I’m going “WTF, Mindy?! Stop. Incessantly. Talking.” I’m working on it…..
All that is to say, I could use some help coming up with some short and sweet wording to remind me to be confident, bold, and without fear. Any ideas?
I have a short list of resolutions, but I’d like to finetune them just a bit more and add to the list before I post them. I have so very many ideas that it would be too many to list and likely too many to meaningfully complete in a year. So I need to get realistic (and brutally honest!) with myself about what goals I want to focus my energy on, what can be a work-in-progress throughout the year and continue into next year, and what needs to go on the back burner for another time? There is a time and place for everything, right? So, no need to burn myself out or to overburden myself either. After all, we are all going to be in recovery mode from 2020 for a bit longer….so let’s not make 2021 too hard on ourselves and give ourselves a bit of grace. 💖
